Governance Committee

The Governance Committee supports Middlesex Rugby and its committees by examining the finer detail of our rules, regulations, procedures and processes. Though it may not be as dynamic as playing matters or rugby development, this is necessary work to ensure that as an RFU Constituent Body we comply with our responsibilities and conduct our business effectively.

The disciplinary processes that are delegated to Middlesex Rugby by the RFU are overseen by Governance. We act as the County’s disciplinary committee and appoint Disciplinary Panel members and chairmen, arrange hearings and subsequently record and report on trends and cases to the RFU. Disciplinary Panels meet throughout the season, to deal with adult players who have been Sent Off More on discipline...

Other topics before governance recently have included producing a risk register, reviewing the rules and bye laws, supporting the workings of the fixture exchange and the preservation of the County’s archives.
