The Competition

With the introduction last year of the London Club 7s Cup, the Middlesex Club 7s competition now offers rugby at all levels, for mens, womens and student teams.
London 7s Cup Senior clubs playing at National League level are invited to enter the London 7s Cup
The Club 7s Cup competition is designed to make sure that all competiting clubs get as many games as possible, with the winners, runners-up and third placed teams in each pool progressing to knock-out rounds of the Cup, Bowl and Plate respectively.
The Vase competition is specifically for clubs playing at league levels 9-12.
The women's competition is now a two tier tournament, ensuring that all the ladies' teams play in evenly matched games.

Teams from the National Leagues and Services competed for a place at the Middlesex Charity 7s, with Esher the eventual winners, after a convincing victory over The Army Chieftains in the final. They progressed to compete in the senior event at Twickenham in July 2011.
Meanwhile, the Barry Boyden Club 7s Cup was won by Ruislip after beating Hammersmith & Fulham in the final, and Pinner & Grammarians won the Vase competition.

Club Sevens History
Since its inception in 1999, the Club Sevens has developed to encompass women’s and students’ sevens along with a Vase competition for the more junior clubs.
First played over two weekends with the finals at Harlequins’ Stoop Memorial ground, Club Sevens relocated to Richmond Athletic Ground in 2006 so that all 7s competitions could be run simultaneously across the RAA’s seven pitches on the same day.
With teams competing from throughout Middlesex and beyond, the event retains the traditional end-of-season slot, and the festival atmosphere to go with it, and the organising committee really knew the event had made it into the rugby calendar when, just like the senior competition, in 2008 they had their very own streaker.
