Old Priorians promoted to London 2 NW

Old Priorians finished the 2012-13 season at the top of London 3 North West, assuring them promotion to London 2 NW next season. To mark the achievement, they were presented with an RFU shield at the Middlesex Club 7s on 4th May by Middlesex Rugby president Michael Barnes.

Harrow progress to London Leagues

Harrow finished the season at the top of Herts/Middlesex League 1, earning them promotion to London 3 North West next season. On behalf of the club, Harrow secretary Rod Nicholas accepted an RFU Shield which was presented by Middlesex Rugby president Michael Barnes at a lunch at the Middlesex Club 7s on 4th May.

Grasshoppers junior netball academy

Following the announcement that Grasshoppers Netball were awarded a Sport England Small Grants Fund to set up a Junior Netball Academy, there was further cause for celebration when it was announced Sport Impact have supported the Academy set up by granting £1,500 funding in kind.

Changes to minis playing rules

The RFU Council has agreed that the “New rules of Play” at Under 7,8 & 9 will be mandatory from 2013. There are some fundamental changes in rules at these ages to simplify delivery and to introduce the game in incremental stages to help children to learn & enjoy playing the game. The philosophy of a child-centred approach to the game by clubs, coaches & other volunteers is central to the success of the programme.

IPF Rugathon

Between the 11th and 14th April there will be a charity fundraising event for the Injured Players Foundation that aims to complete 26 games of rugby across the UK over a single (long) weekend. This is being organised by the Essex Bishops who hope to encourage many local clubs to come along to watch them play, chuck some change in a bucket and maybe even be inspired to hold their own events.

London & SE U20 Division names Middlesex players

04 March 2013

The London and South-East Under 20 Divisional selectors have named five Team Middlesex players to trial on Sunday 10th March 2013 at Staines RFC. This will be the first trial ahead of the Divisional Festival at Welbeck College, Leicestershire on 29th and 30th March.
