Charity Mixed TAG Rugby World Cup Festival Wednesday, 29 August 2007
With the Rugby World Cup shortly upon us we thought it would be a great opportunity to invite local firms and organisations along to Grasshoppers for a mixed TAG rugby festival to coincide with the RFU’s “Go Play Rugby” national campaign.
It also gives us a great opportunity to raise funds for two very worthwhile charities:
• The Mulberry Centre based at West Middlesex University Hospital welcomes anyone whose life is affected by cancer. The centre provides a relaxed and comfortable environment where patients, families, carers and friends can seek information and discuss their needs with experienced staff.
• The Wooden Spoon is rugby’s charity supporting mentally, physically & socially disadvantaged children and young people. All funds raised in Middlesex are spent in the county and several of Hounslow’s schools for children with special needs have benefited from the society’s generous support.
If you can get a mixed team of players together with a maximum of 10 in the squad (minimum of 2 girls/ladies) please come along and join in the fun. We are asking each team to raise £10 for each player and all of the funds raised will be split equally between two excellent causes.
Games will last a maximum of 10 minutes depending on how many teams are entered but the emphasis will be on everyone enjoying themselves. TAG rugby is non contact and great fun. There will be prizes for the winning team and refreshments will be available on the night from Greedies2.
No rugby or football boots please, trainers will be fine, and if you can kit yourself in t-shirts sporting your organisations colours even better. Bring along your own supporters to cheer you on and win or lose you can all recall your moments of glory (or not) in our friendly clubhouse! Being a rugby club we will be throwing in some special prizes on the night as well!
