MIDDLESEX U18s assess the 2007 talent
A number of last year’s (06-07) Middlesex U18 Squad return including scrum halves Saul Zulman (Saracens & Mill Hill Sch) and Michael Simpson (Wasps & St Benedict’s Sch).
On September 16 the coaches assessed just over twenty more nominees and have more to consider when the Squad assembles on September 30 at Harrow School Playing Fields at 10.30am.
Three fixtures loom on Oct 14, 28 and Nov 4 that act as trials to select the London & SE England Divisional XV.
“We anticipate that the standard of the Middlesex U18s will be high, as usual” said Manager, Nigel Orton. “The U18s pride themselves on turning out many internationals at u18, many go on to be top premiership players or senior internationals.” Last year this included winger, Will Browne (Hampton Sch & London Welsh RFC) and Fly half, Ross Swanson (Harrow Sch and Teddington RFC). In the past Delon Armitage (London Irish), Tom Shanklin of Wales; and going back even Wasp legend Lawrence D’Aliglio can trace their success to Middlesex U18s
