Michael Flynn

It is with sadness we record the death of Michael Flynn. Michael died Wednesday 3rd October in St Peter’s Hospital, Chertsey after suffering a short but severe illness. Our heartfelt sympathies to his wife, Lonsdale and family who were with him.

Michael was a founder member of Hampstead RFC and currently the representative of Teddington RFC to the Middlesex South Group and from there, a Group Representative on the Middlesex County RFU General Committee. His major contribution to Middlesex was as a member of the Club Sevens and Marketing Committees.

Michael was also known in the wider sporting world through his connections with Sport England and the Sports Council. In his early 70’s when he died, Michael’s ebullient character will be much missed by all who knew him.

We have just been notified that his funeral will take place at Mortlake Crematorium on Friday 12th October at 12.30pm. This will be for family and close friends only.

No flowers please. At a later date there will be a memorial service which will be an opportunity for all Michael’s contacts in the wider sporting world to celebrate his life. At this service there will be an opportunity to make a donation to a charity in memory of Michael.
