Playing rugby in Middlesex

In addition to running a Senior County XV, Middlesex Rugby runs a number of inter-club leagues and knock out competitions at all levels of the game and for all age groups.

Middlesex Cup

The Senior County Cup is open to the top eight Middlesex clubs in the London Divisions (based on on their finishing position in the previous season) and will take the format of knockout competition. There is no seeding.

Clubs not entering the County Competitions will be ineligible for the RFU National Competitions the following season.

Middlesex Bowl

The Middlesex Bowl is open to all Middlesex clubs below the top eight in the London Divisions and to all clubs in Herts /Middx 1. However, other clubs may be invited to enter the Bowl by the Competitions Committee. There is no seeding.

Clubs not entering the County Competitions will be ineligible for the RFU National Competitions the following season.

Middlesex Federation Vase

The Federation Vase is a knock-out competition open to all county clubs not eligible for the Middlesex Bowl, in Herts/Middx 1 and below, including club 1st XVs playing in the Middlesex or Herts/Middx Merit Tables. There is no seeding.

The competition is played to Middlesex Cup rules with one exception; players do not have to be league registered, just bona fide club members.

North Group Floodlit Cup

The Bob Robinson Cup, named after the late Bob Robinsom, former goup officers chairman, is presented to the club winning the North Group Floodlit Cup.

Middlesex (and Hertfordshire) Leagues

For the purposes of the English Clubs Championship - the Leagues - Middlesex Rugby combines to form a joint Competitions Committee with Hertfordshire.
